The Role of Glucose in Esophageal Squamous Cell Cancer

Steven Hochwald, MD, MB, FACS, Chief of Surgical Oncology at Roswell Park, and his team set out to determine if glucose stimulates the growth of esophageal squamous cell cancer. Dr. Hochwald describes the findings and the implications for future development of drugs to target the phosphorylated histidine proteins that drive proliferation of these cancer cells.
