Current Concepts in Type A Dissection Repair

Nimesh D Desai, MD, PhD, examines Type A dissection repair with an eye to the high periprocedural mortality and late aortic complications associated with these procedures. Lowering the periprocedural complications of Type A repair, Dr. Desai says, will mean instituting protocolized, systematic approaches to the design of surgery; later complications can be avoided by taking a robust, comprehensive approach to up-front arch surgeries.
