Late Aortic Complications after Type A Dissection Repair

Joseph E. Bavaria, MD, lends an expert’s perspective to this discussion of treatments for the complications arising in the aftermath of type A dissection. Highlighting complications to be aware of at follow-up, including proximal root aneurysms and leaking valves, Dr. Bavaria then focuses on late complications at the distal aorta caused by classical repair of type A dissection, repair with stent grafting (TEVAR) and endografting versus open surgery, type B dissection after type A, and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm dissection repair.
