Dr. Mario Mandala, a medical oncologist and clinical assistant in the Unit of Medical Oncology, from Riuniti Bergamo Hospital in Bergamo, Italy, comments on the results of a study, appearing in Mayo Clinic Proceedings, February 2011 issue, which by using a prospective, monoinstitutional database with individual data, demonstrates that the socioeconomic status is associated with Breslow thickness, disease-free and overall survival in stage I-II primary cutaneous melanoma.
