When Gianna was born blind and deaf, she wasn’t guaranteed a regular childhood. By having access to UC Davis Health, she became one of the youngest patients to ever receive cochlear implants.
What's your name? This Dan. Jonah. Jonah is 4.5 years old. She has micro tha mia and hypo Tonia. She was born blind and deaf. She had co killer implant surgery when she was 10 months old. She started to blossom shortly after that. Jonah has been diagnosed with so many conditions. She has nine specialty doctors. As of today, I absolutely feel comfortable being at UC Davis with any of the doctors. They will take the time out in their schedule to really listen to my concerns and my worries. And they also take the time out to engage with her. That's the care that I expect. That's the care that I want. And that's that's that's the care that I need. That's the care that Johnny and that's something that I don't think you can get from anywhere else. Okay. Yeah, She is a social butterfly now. She loves school. She goes to preschool by the her speech has just taken off. She talks so much from the moment that her cochlear implants go on in the morning, Thio The moment they come off at night, time for bedtime. What is it? Yeah, babies implant huh? As soon as she was born, we knew that that's where we needed to be on. That's where we'll always be. It's just been amazing, absolutely amazing.
