Ketamine intervention and treatment-resistant depression

Many people with depression do not respond effectively to first line antidepressant treatments. It usually takes at least three weeks from the time treatment begins for those who do respond to see any clinical benefit.

Mayo Clinic is eager to develop promising new ways to diagnose and treat treatment-resistant depression. Susannah J. Tye, Ph.D., with Psychiatry and Psychology at Mayo Clinic's campus in Rochester, Minnesota, discusses research to optimize treatment with ketamine intervention for people with treatment-resistant depression.
